The Jewel Box is an original acrylic painting completed in 2025, inspired by a surprising discovery in our own backyard. Though we moved to St. Louis in 2015 and visited Forest Park countless times, it wasn't until nine years later that we stumbled upon the stunning Jewel Box—a true hidden gem nestled among the trees.
This piece captures the elegant architecture of the Jewel Box greenhouse mirrored in the still lily-covered pond before it. I was drawn to the way the glass structure catches the light and contrasts beautifully with the lush greenery and serene water.
