36 x 36 inches | Acrylic on canvas
Part of my Missouri Botanical Garden SeriesThis painting is centered on the dome of the Climatron at the Missouri Botanical Garden, stretching across the horizon under a wide, open sky. It’s one of those views that feels both massive and peaceful at the same time.
The pond in front is full of reflections—blues, purples, and bits of sky broken up by lily pads, water lilies, and those bright floating glass sculptures of Dale Chihuly. They add these little pops of color that keep your eye moving through the painting.
This one feels especially personal to me because my husband took what felt like 50 different photos of this exact spot so I could get the right reference. It’s painted in a loose, impressionist manner, leaning into that slightly abstract, light-filled feeling you get when you’re actually standing there, taking it all in.
